The Vegas Golden Knights completed a four-game series sweep of the Colorado Avalanche following a 2-1 victory last night. The win sends Vegas back to their third Stanley Cup Final in their nine-year existence.
Colorado finished the NHL season with a league-leading 121 points, the ninth-most in a regular season ever. Vegas went through a coaching change, bringing in John Torterella March 30th.
At the World Hockey Championships Tuesday:
–The United States defeated Austria 4-1 in Zurich. The victory sets the U.S. up for a quarterfinal match-up with Canada. Connor Clifton of the Penguins scored for the U.S.
–Canada defeated Czechia 4-2. Penguins Sidney Crosby and Parker Wotherspoon had two assists each.
