A Louisiana man has been charged in Butler after it’s alleged he cashed a fake U.S. Treasury check in Cranberry.
On March 11, police were called to the Cranberry Walmart for a man that had cashed a fake U.S. Treasury check for $1,652. The alleged theft was able to use a fake name and address to cash the check.
Police used the vehicle drive by the alleged theft to connect the crime to 26-year-old Deshaun Jackson. He’s been accused for committing a similar crime at over 60 Walmart’s across the Untied States for more than $85,000.
He has been charged with forgery, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, and bad checks.
A warrant for his arrest has been issued.
