William David Matson, 64, of Butler, passed away in the comfort of his home on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Born in Butler on Nov. 12, 1960, he was a son of Mary Anne Lang Matson and the late Ronald E. Matson.
Bill was a skilled craftsman who owned and operated a rock quarry.
He is survived by two children, Ronald J. Matson, of Butler, and Devon Rae Matson, of Pittsburgh; his mother, Mary Anne Lang Matson, of Butler; five siblings, James H. Matson, of Butler, Edward J. Matson and his wife, Sandy, of Butler, Thomas A. Matson and his wife, Golda, of Butler, Kathleen M. Smith and her husband, Thomas, of Butler, and Michael J. Matson and his wife, Martha, of Naples, Fla.; one grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald E. Matson, and one brother, Robert E. Matson.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, South Side, 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Tuesday, July 1, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. at All Saints Parish, St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler, with Rev. Kevin C. Fazio officiating.
