A Beaver County woman who pled guilty in the death of a Butler Eagle employee was sentenced late last week.
In May 2023, 27-year-old Kassandra Cylde of Fombell was driving under the influence when she hit and killed 65-year-old James Barge of New Castle on Route 422.
Cylde pled guilty to homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and a DUI. All other charges were dismissed.
She was sentenced to 36 to 120 months in prison, pay a fine of $1000 and the cost of prosecution, complete an approved alcohol highway safety school, and attend a victim impact panel.
Barge, a former printing operator, was driving home when he was killed. He was two weeks away from retirement.
