Wynona D. “Noni” McCreary, 86, of Butler, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026, while under the care of Quality Life Services Sugar Creek.
Born June 22, 1939, in Homer City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Delton and Hannah (Walker) Stiles.
Noni was a graduate of Laura Lamar High School in Homer City. She worked most of her life in food service for AVI and Rita’s Italian Ice. Noni attended East Butler Presbyterian Church for many years. She was also actively involved with the East Butler Sparks where she was the Director and also held numerous officer positions. Noni also was a past cub scout den leader with her sons. She was known for keeping one of the most meticulous calendars ever, and enjoyed keeping her daily journal. Noni loved family reunions, relaxing in the pool, baking, cooking, puzzles, hosting Steeler parties, and following her grandchildren’s events. Above all else, she adored spending her time with her large, loving family.
She is survived by two sons, James (Diane) McCreary and Thomas (Karen) McCreary; two daughters, Kimberly (Robert) Armahizer and LeeAnne (Greg) Rodgers; 10 grandchildren, Michael (Abby), Stephen (Kristin), Ryan (Anita), Jonathan, Jordan (Colleen), Megan (Paul), Haley, Reghan, Austin, and Luke; five great grandchildren, Emerson, Ella, Harrison, Maggie, and Elsie; three brothers; Lynn (Sharon) Stiles, Leland (Nancy) Stiles, and Terry (Wanda) Stiles; four sisters, Leona Wynkoop, Dorothy Martin, Marlene (Ralph) Sparks, and Debbie (Bob) Streams and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James R. McCreary, whom she married on August 27, 1960, and who passed away on February 9, 2016, and two brothers – in – law, James and John.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 1-3 & 5-7 PM at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Mary Kitchen officiating.
She will be laid to rest in Butler County Memorial Park.
