A gathering this weekend will celebrate the Zelienople Rotary Club’s 100th anniversary.
Rotarians will meet at The Stables at Connoquenessing tomorrow night to look back on the volunteer group hitting the century mark.
The Zelienople Rotary was officially founded by Paul Harris in 1924.
Since that time, they’ve raised funds for both local and global projects. This year, the Zelienople Rotary’s main project was to help bring the spirit of Christmas to downtown, according to Rotary President Rich Gilotti.
“A few people volunteered and we got a beautiful Christmas tree and it took a picker truck to get the top on and the bow and everything,” said Gilotti. “It’s beautiful addition to main street in Zelienople and hopefully it’ll be there for many years to come.”
County Commissioners proclaimed this upcoming Monday as Zelienople Rotary Day.
