Motorists in Cranberry Township should be aware of a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation that will close local roads this weekend.
According to PennDOT, no vehicular traffic will be allowed on Freedom Road from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Rolling closures are also planned on Executive and Thomson Park Drives during those times.
Rolling closures are also planned for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Friday night into Saturday morning eastbound and then Saturday night into Sunday morning westbound.
The closure will allow for bridge modules to be moved from Thompson Park to the Freedom Road Bridge site. In case of inclement weather, this project will take place next weekend.
Detours will be posted and drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.
