The City of Butler will be make improvements to their fire station as a result of recently being awarded a state grant.
Thursday night City Council accepted a 2023 Municipal Fire Department Capital Grant of nearly $78,000 from the office of the PA State Fire Commissioner.
According to Butler City Fire Chief Chris Switala, the funding will be used to purchase four garage doors along with new tracks, motors, and safety sensors.
The current garage doors at the public safety building are old and damaged while the new doors are expected to be installed sometime over the next several months.
