Butler County Community College Trustees have agreed to a new contract agreement with the support professionals union.
The Butler County Community College Board of Trustees unanimously approved a motion at their special meeting Wednesday for a three year agreement retroactive to July 1st, 2023. This same deal was accepted by the union earlier this week.
Both parties met with a mediator from the PA Department of Labor and Industry July 11th suggested that an expired contract offer from last year be revived to resolve the dispute with the union.
This deal includes 3% annual wage increases retroactive to July of 2023 as well as a first-year base-salary increase to $750 from $500 for current full-time employees and first-year hourly rate raises to 35 cents from 25 cents for current part-time workers. This offer also increased the one-time retirement incentive payment by $1,000 to $9,000 total.
The board and union, which represents 46 secretarial and clerical employees, have been negotiating since January of 2023 on a contract that expired at the end of last June.
