Wanda V. Black Strelow, 83, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away July 24, 2024, at MercyOne Medical Center in Clinton, Iowa.
Born July 29, 1940, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Frank, Sr. and Leota Wonderly Black.
At the age of 13, Wanda and her family moved to Davenport. Following her graduation from Central High School in 1958, she went to work at Davenport Bank and retired with 46 years’ service.
Wanda was a lifelong Presbyterian.
She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed baking, especially at Christmas.
She is survived by her daughter, Shelly Newcomb and her husband, Craig, of Bettendorf, Iowa; one granddaughter, Emily Mengler and her husband, Garrett, of Davenport, Iowa; one great-granddaughter, Lainey; one brother, Donald Black, of Cabot; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Black, Robert Black, and Frank Black, Jr.
Graveside services will take place Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 3 p.m. at North Butler Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with Rev. Bob Edmundson officiating.
Local arrangements were entrusted to the care of Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler.
