Ruth E. (Heckert) McIlvain

Ruth E. (Heckert) McIlvain, 100, of Butler passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025. She was born in Callery, PA on May 23. 1925, to the late Albert and Myrtle (Kennedy) Heckert. Ruth graduated from Butler Area High School in 1943, and was homemaker, wife, mother and secretary. She was known for her wise, caring and loving personality. Ruth enjoyed dining out and cheering for the Steelers. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert McIlvain, whom she married in 1947; mother of Donald McIlvain and Nancy (McIlvain) Secunda; grandmother of Patrick (Megan) McIlvain, Sara (Secunda) Mallia, Shane (Lezlie) and Stacy Secunda; great grandmother of Long Truong, Harriet and George (Ann) McIlvain; Ruth is also survived by her nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Albert. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 11 AM to 12:30 PM at SPENCER D.
