The Pennsylvania Senate Majority Leader is weighing in on transportation funding following the new state budget.
Republican Joe Pittman says there were disagreements on how to fund public transportation. He argues the GOP’s plan to use money from the Public Transportation Trust Fund was an optimal solution.
Governor Josh Shapiro and Democrats voted against that plan.
Much of the issue centers around SEPTA, which is the Philadelphia public transportation system.
While the budget increased $100 million in transportation funding, there was not additional money given to public transportation.
