The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed veteran right-handed pitcher Jose Urquidy, a free agent who most recently pitched for the Houston Astros. The agreement is a one-year deal worth $1.5 million with added incentives. Urguidy has gone through Tommy John surgery twice, and missed most of the 2024 season. Across four seasons with the Astros, he had a 3.74 ERA over 342 innings.
The Pirates pitchers and catchers report for their first workout next Wednesday in Bradenton, Florida.
