The Mars Area School Board is considering renovations and expansion of the Centennial School.
Jon Thomas of Thomas and Williamson presented options for the board following up on an enrollment and capacity study done in 2023 with new data.
With the renovations and expansion currently underway at the Mars Area Elementary school, fourth grade students are expected to be shifted to the Centennial which will need additional space.
Thomas also presented options for the board to consider about the district’s athletic facilities.
Thomas will put out requests for proposals for both the possible athletic field projects as well as an architect for the Centennial project. If the board decides to move forward, construction bids could be awarded in early 2027 with completion estimated for fall of 2028.
