A newly proposed bill in Harrisburg aims to harshen penalties for bus drivers who operate a bus while under the influence.
The legislation will create a new sentencing enhancement for drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance while driving a school bus.
The bill was proposed by Senator Tracy Pennyciuck, who says a driver in her district tested positive with a blood alcohol content of .331 and had marijuana in his system.
