The NFL Draft began last night in Pittsburgh with a massive crowd that spilled inside Acrisure Stadium to watch the opening round. The Las Vegas Raiders selected Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick.
The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Arizona State offensive lineman Max Iheanachor (Eee – Hawn-a chore). The native of Nigeria appears to be a developmental prospect with a high upside.
It was the Steelers third time in four drafts they have selected an offensive lineman.
The draft continues tonight with Rounds 2 & 3. The Steelers have four picks tonight. They have the 53rd overall selection in the second round, then have three third round picks.
The draft resumes with Rounds 4 through 7 Saturday at noon.
The Slippery Rock University football team will complete their spring practices with the annual “Green & White” football game tonight at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Kick-off is 6pm. Admission is free.
