A new report shows some municipalities across Butler County are growing at a significant rate.
Lancaster, Jackson, and Slippery Rock Townships were included in the top five of population increases in the state last year according to Pennsylvania State Data Center.
Slippery Rock came in fifth with a 24.7 percent increase (1,652 people), Jackson was third with 34.7 percent increase (1,696 people), and Lancaster was first with a 36 percent increase (990 people).
Although, several Butler County municipalities saw large increases, the county did not rank in the top five for the greatest numeric increases. Allegheny County saw the larges numeric increases and Philadelphia County saw the greatest numeric decrease.
