The Butler Township Commissioners accepted a letter of retirement for an administrator at their Monday night meeting.
Director of Finance Cheryl McNeill sent a letter to Township Manager Tom Knights about six weeks ago stating that she was ending her time with the Township effective one week from today (May 26) but she will use vacation and personal days through the end of June.
McNeill spent a decade with Butler Township first as assistant manager then transitioning to the Director of Finance role. Township Secretary Theresa Giesler has been working with McNeill to ensure a smooth transition as Giesler takes over the position.
Township administrators anticipate an open hiring process to find a new Butler Township Secretary over the next few months.
