After beginning a new program last year, the Butler Area School District will honor students who have demonstrated advanced language proficiency.
Three seniors at Butler Area Senior High School will receive the Pennsylvania Seal of Biliteracy at an award ceremony Wednesday afternoon in front of students of the world language department.
In order to achieve this honor from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, students assembled a portfolio demonstrating a high level of listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency.
The Butler students receiving this award have demonstrated proficiency in French and additionally will receive a commendation from local state representative Marci Mustello.
