The Pennsylvania Independent Fiscal Office says the state saw a decrease in natural gas production.
The IFO reported that the production volume for the first quarter of the year was down 0.8 percent compared to quarter one of last year.
The IFO credits large winter storms for the decrease in production in the first quarter. There was also a decrease in new wells from 129 wells in quarter 4 last year to 101 wells this past quarter.
But the biggest change was the spot hub price. It increased by 41.5 percent going from $3.08 to $5.22.
Pennsylvania was also last in production growth of the seven largest production states.
