The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is continuing spring road project maintenance work around Butler County this week.
These activities include pipe replacement with road closure on Route 528 Prospect Road in Connoquenessing Township between Little Creek and Shannon Roads as well as drainage work along Mars Evans City Road in Forward Township and Route 19 in Jackson Township.
Patching will take place on Cemetery Road in Venango Township, Parker Pike in Allegheny Township, and Kittanning Pike and Annisville Road in Parker Township, while mill and fill is planned for Sevenhills Road in Concord and Oakland Townships along with Route 138 in Washington Township.
Mowing and shoulder cutting is planned for Interstate 79 and Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township, along with Herman and Mitchell Hill Roads in Summit Township and Freeport Road Route 356 in Butler and Summit Townships.
Finally, PennDOT crews will be begin road work on Route 268 at Karns City High School and the intersection of Route 268 and Fairmont Road. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane as workers apply a high friction surface treatment project that will help drivers have better control of their vehicles. Weather permitting, the work is expected to continue from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day until completion sometime next month.
