The first meeting of the Butler City Land Bank Board of Directors was held earlier this week.
At their meeting Monday afternoon, Butler City Mayor Bob Dandoy was chosen as the Chairperson while attorney Gerri Paulisick will be the vice chair and financial advisor Jeff Geibel was selected as secretary.
The Land Bank Board will establish a plan for policies and goals in order to help the city address some property issues. A national conference of land banks scheduled for later this year in Pittsburgh was discussed with Butler’s Board planning to send representation.
The ordinance giving final approval to this organization was passed by Council in May with no funding attached. A certificate of Incorporation has been secured from the Secretary of the Commonwealth along with additional requirements mandated by the state.
This five-person board is expected to meet publicly in Council Chambers on the afternoon of the third Tuesday of every month.
