A Washington County man will stand trial for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenager in Jefferson Township.
At a preliminary hearing yesterday, 22-year-old William Leach of Bentleyville had charges including felony statutory sexual assault, indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age, unlawful contact with a minor, and interference with custody of children held for trial.
Leach allegedly went into a 15-year-old girl’s home after her parents left for work earlier this month. Leach then allegedly began committing sexual acts to the teen. Afterwards, Leach walked with the girl around Saxonburg while drinking and smoking before the two returned home. Leach then escaped into the woods where he was later tracked down and taken into custody.
During an interview with police, the teen confirmed the sexual assault and also said Leach threatened to “kill her and her entire family” if she told anyone about the assault.
