A local man accused of threatening federal officials including President Donald Trump will spend time in prison.
According to the Department of Justice, 33-year-old Shawn Monper of Butler has been sentenced to four years in jail followed by three years of supervised release.
Monper entered a guilty plea to making threats to assault and murder President Donald J. Trump, other United States officials, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents earlier this year.
Monper was taken into custody in April of 2025 at a home on Morton Avenue. The FBI was assisted by the Butler Township Police in this investigation.
