A Butler man is accused of doing thousands of dollars in damage after painting a dozen buildings in Butler City without permission.
The incident happened in early September when buildings on West New Castle, Mercer, and West Cunningham Streets had unknown white paint on the buildings.
Video surveillance from one of the buildings identified 21-year-old Tobin Eckman walking around the area of the buildings with paint with a paint bucket.
When police went to Eckman’s home to speak with him, he allegedly had white paint on his arms, fingernails, shoes, and hair. Eckman then allegedly admitted to the incident when informed of the video.
The total estimate of damages committed is $5,527.
Eckman was charged with criminal mischief and a preliminary hearing date has not been scheduled.
