The NHL season kicks off today with five games on the schedule. The first game of the day will be Carolina hosting Florida at 5pm. Also on the schedule are Toronto hosting Montreal, Boston hosting the New York Rangers. Late night games are Edmonton hosting Vancouver and Vegas hosting Chicago.
The Pittsburgh Penguins open their season tomorrow night in Philadelphia. Face-off is 7:30pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 7pm.
The Penguins will begin the year with five players on Injured Reserve after Bryan Rust was added to that list Monday with an “Upper-Body” injury.
The MLB Wild Card playoffs begin today. The first game of the day will be Atlanta hosting Philadelphia. Game time is 2pm.
–The Houston Astros host the Chicago White Sox at 5pm.
–The New York Yankees host the Boston Red Sox at 8pm.
–The final game of the night will see San Diego hosting the Chicago Cubs at 10pm.
Each of the Wild Card Series are best-of-three games. The Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians received first-round “byes” for being the division-winners with the best records in baseball.
