James “Hugo” E. Evans, 62, of Butler passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026. He was born in Montgomery, WV on October 1, 1963, to the late Sylvester and Barbara (Gorgas) Evans.
Hugo was a pillar to the community, through the Hot Dog Shop, which is now Butler Dog Shop, Gata Trucking and Butler color press.
He was a huge Steelers fan and enjoyed camping, drinking beer, or his favorite, Dr. McGillicuddy’s. Hugo was a member of the American Legion Post 243.
Hugo is survived by his children, Johnathan Paul Parker and Ashlea Johnson; 5 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Kenneth Hilliard, Emma Scott, Misty Mansberger and Bob Sloan, for their love and support that they showed during his hospital stay.
