William “Bill” W. Singer, 81, of Hilliards, PA, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026. He was born in New Castle, PA on September 15, 1945, to the late John and Helen (Huff) Singer.
Bill had a lifelong love of horses and took great pride in caring for them. Harley was his faithful companion for 30 years. Flash came home to Bill as a three-year-old and was later rehomed to a daughter-in-law, where he went on to become a successful show horse. Apache, the newest addition to the family, spent ten years by Bill’s side.
Bill loved farming and always considered himself a farmer, regardless of how much land he owned. He enjoyed attending rodeos, trail riding, and spending time outdoors. Whether he was tackling home improvement projects, repairing small engines, or working on the farm, Bill approached every task with dedication and care. He took pride in doing things the right way and was never satisfied until everything was just perfect. His strong work ethic, craftsmanship, and love for the simple joys of country life will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Shaina Singer (born Flora Cockroft, formerly Flora Fife). He is also survived by his children, Stacy (Chaz) Berresford, Lori (Wade) Otruba and Douglas Singer; his stepchildren, Wayne Fife, Mary (Hugh) Luster, Teena (Steve) Smithbauer and Brian (Becky) Fife; his brothers, Richard (Sandy) Singer and Eugene (Darlene) Singer; Pollie (Chris) Fife Robinson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Georgetta Sadler, Helen Palmer and Sally Scanlon; his brothers, John Singer, Samuel Singer and Robert Singer; and his stepsons, Shane Fife and Travis Fife.
