The Mars Area School District is continuing with work at the Elementary School while considering renovations and expansion of the Centennial School.
Representatives of Thomas and Williamson presented updates on the Elementary project to the Mars School board at a Tuesday meeting.
The renovations and expansion that took place last month at the Mars Area Elementary school include installation of underground utilities and new controls for boilers, as well as the concrete slab poured. Moving forward, site work will continue with energizing a new generator along with installation of lighting fixtures.
As for the Centennial project, the board approved a motion to select Roth Marz Partnership from Erie as architect since the firm presented for the Elementary project and has experience working with the district. Site design plans will be drafted then presented to the board in the near future.
