The Knoch School District is planning to purchase a vehicle for smaller numbers of students to take school-sponsored trips.
During their Wednesday night meeting, the school board approved a motion to authorize administrators to purchase a new or used school vehicle to carry up to nine passengers plus a driver at a total cost not to exceed $70,000.
This vehicle will not be used for regular day-to-day student transportation; instead a common use would be travel for Knoch students attending extracurricular activities.
Knoch previously rented vans for this purpose from their contracted transportation provider but this is no longer possible due to new insurance policy restrictions and state regulations.
