A new law is now in effect that puts in stronger protections from telemarketers.
The law will prohibit telemarketing calls prior to 9 a.m. and after 7 p.m. It will also prohibit the calls on Sunday and holidays.
There are a number of other restrictions in place, including the ability to require prior express written notice consent for calls.
The law updates the state’s Telemarketer Registration Act for the first time in nearly 30 years.
