The Butler County Family YMCA is calling recent fundraising efforts a success.
Over $18,000 was raised during the organization’s Strong Kids campaign through several events in October.
Events included:
Casino Royale – held at Twelve Oaks Mansion in Mars. This event featured casino-themed entertainment, a roaming magician, and raffles in a Las Vegas style cocktail party environment. This event was sponsored by Prestige Wealth Strategies, Premier Power Solutions, Northern Connection Magazine, PNC Bank and NexTier Bank.
Haunted Trail – held at YMCA Camp/Armco Park in Slippery Rock. This outdoor walk through the woods had participants encountering a number of ghosts and ghouls, all in the spirit of the season and in good family fun. This event was underwritten in part by the Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau.
Cyclethons were held at both the Butler and Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA branches. Each group had different themed rides. A variety of goodies and prizes were available to participants, including a chance to win a Precor Spin bike, which was donated by Precor.
“The weekend had something for everyone,” said Sandra Ihlenfeld, VP, Organizational Advancement. “We are grateful to our board, our members and our community for their on-going support. Part of our Mission is offering classes and programs for all. The Strong Kids Campaign helps us to do just that.”
The Strong Kids Campaign subsidizes YMCA memberships and programs to eliminate barriers and allow kids to learn, grow and thrive. To date, more than $227,000 has been pledged toward the campaign. This year’s goal is $250,000.
