Patricia L. “Pat” McElravy, 87, of Chicora, went to be with the Lord Sunday evening, June 24, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia was born on August 9, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Russell D. and Dorothy A. Duffy Cooper.
Pat was a 1948 graduate of Fairview Twp. Karns City High School. She was a long time active member of the Karns City United Methodist Church and served in various church offices. She was a long time member and secretary of the Who Do Sunday School Class. She enjoyed reading and sending cards. In her earlier years, Pat was employed at Cooper’s Store in Karns City and later had been employed as a cafeteria monitor at the Chicora Elementary School.
Patricia was married in Chicora at the English Lutheran Church on June 21, 1952 to Robert M. McElravy. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2017.
Surviving are three children, Michael J. McElravy and his wife, Mary Jo, of Mt. Juliet, TN, Melinda M. Stroup and her husband, Jamie, of West Sunbury, and Stephen W. McElravy and his wife, Kimberly, of Karns City; three grandchildren, Holly Crisman and her companion, Jeff Linton, of Harrisville, Russell D. Stroup of West Sunbury, and Matthew McElravy and his wife, Heather, of Nashville, TN; two great grandchildren, Brandan Stroup of West Sunbury and Frankie Stroup of Butler; a brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Dixie Cooper of Harrisburg; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Kloker of Karns City and Phyllis Wigton and her husband, Donald, of Glendale, AZ, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Pat was preceded in death by a brother, James R. Cooper and a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 6 – 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at the Karns City United Methodist Church, 117 Petrolia St., Karns City, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev.
