The Pennsylvania Department of Health has provided an update on measles cases in Pennsylvania and announced another county has been impacted.
The DOH reports on Friday that 21 new measles cases were confirmed on Wednesday. Crawford County was also added to the list of counties with at least one case as well.
In total, over 1,300 people have been infected, 255 people have been hospitalized, 44 counties have at least one reported case, five people have had a measles-associated death, and four vaccinated people have been infected, but that makes up less than one percent of cases.
Health officials advise everyone over the age six to be fully vaccinated with both doses to drastically reduce chances of hospitalization. More information can be found online through the state website’s Measles Dashboard.
