The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue continued 2026 with tax collections totaling $3 billion last month.
Revenue from sales tax in August totaled $1.3 billion while personal income tax was $1.2 billion for the month.
The Motor License Fund received over $280 million for the month from gas and diesel taxes, as well as other license, fine, and fee revenues.
August collections were nearly 1% less than anticipated or about $22 million under estimate while the fiscal year-to-date General Fund collections are just over $21 million or about a half percent under estimate.
