A man from Baden is facing charges after he allegedly was involved in a police chase in Cranberry over the weekend.
Just before 4 a.m. Sunday, police saw a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Shaun Thomas make an illegal left turn on Route 228.
The officer then attempted to pull the vehicle over, but Thomas took off and a chase began. The officer had to end the pursuit due to the high speed of the chase.
Not long after the chase ended, the officer saw Thomas in his vehicle again. He attempted to pull him over, but Thomas took off for a second time.
However, the chase ended when Thomas crashed into a pole at Laporta Drive.
Police say Thomas admitted to drinking that night and a test on scene said Thomas was over the legal limit.
He was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, a DUI, and several traffic offenses. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bond as he awaits a preliminary hearing.
