One student was taken to the hospital after a school bus crash yesterday afternoon in Donegal Township.
The accident happened just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Conerty and Rattigan Roads.
State police say a school bus was starting to pull out onto Conerty Road when the tires starting to spin due to the wet road conditions.
Police say an oncoming car driven by 68-year-old Richard Turner of Chicora saw the bus coming into his lane and hit the brakes. However, his car couldn’t stop in time due to the wet roads and he hit the bus.
There were two students on the bus at the time of the crash; a 5-year-old boy suffered a cut to his head and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. A 10-year-old boy was not injured.
Police also say the school bus driver and Turner were not injured in the crash.
