Burton James (Jim) Roxbury, 81, of Prospect, PA passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 27, 2026. After an extended stay in the hospital, his only desire was to go home to be with his wife and beloved dog Blue. He spent less than thirty-six hours there before passing.
Born February 5, 1945, Jim was the son of the late Burton Dale and Violet Rose (Goughler) Roxbury. He was born in Beaver Falls and raised in Prospect, the baby of the family, with two older sisters.
Jim graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1963. He worked tirelessly over the years as a pipe layer for several construction companies. The weekends and evenings would often be spent cutting firewood or painting houses in the Prospect area.
Jim married his sweetheart, Patricia Lee Arbogast on August 7,1964 who survives him. They would have happily celebrated sixty-two years in just a few weeks.
Jim is a member of The Church of God in Connoquenessing.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by three children, Ron (Chrissy) Roxbury of Prospect, Tina (Mark) Irwin of Callery and Bob (Alicia) Roxbury of Prospect. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, Dustin (Kelly) Roxbury, Amanda Roxbury, Katie (Sean) Stevens, Amanda (Robert) Connery , Jon McFeaters, Jeff (Andria) Irwin, Kaitlyn Irwin, Kara Irwin, Jeremy Irwin, Abigail (Eldon) Martin, Bethany (Carl) Hitt, Carrie Roxbury, Shane (Grace) Roxbury and 19 great-grandchildren. His sister Patricia Enslen also survives along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, his sister Linda Henry preceded him in death.
Jim had a great sense of humor, always joking with others and making them laugh. He was even exchanging wise cracks with his nurses during his final days. Often is heard, “As Papa would say”, followed by one of his witty sayings.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Connoquenessing Church of God, 1247 Evans City Road, Connoquenessing, PA 16027.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Connoquenessing Church of God, 1247 Evans City Road, Connoquenessing, PA 16027.
A private burial will be held at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
