The City of Butler is moving forward with plans to change who collects property and per capita tax revenue.
At their Wednesday meeting, Council spent time hearing from City Treasurer Linda Graham-Greek and discussing the fact that current tax collection agency Berkheimer does not utilize compatible software with what has been mandated for municipalities by Butler County.
After considering various options, Council directed the Treasurer to prepare for a transition to Butler Township Treasurer Olivia Wiest Mathews at the end of this year.
These preparations will include informing Butler Area School District of this decision as well as notifying Berkheimer by the end of this month and preparing a contract for future approval.
