The local free community dinners are seeing an increase in the number of people.
The free dinners are held each weeknight at different churches in the City of Butler.
Ray Christy is with Community Meal Ministry and he says the number of people getting a meal is going up.
“We’ve been starting the month around 225 people per dinner. By the end of the month we’re now seeing 400 to 425 people. I expect that number to go up for the summer,” Christy said.
The organization held a fundraiser over the weekend looking to raise money to help cover increasing food costs.
