David K. Blackwell, 61, of Butler, PA, passed away on August 1, 2025, at AHN Grove City Hospital.
He was born on January 10, 1964, in Wells Bridge, NY, to the late Frank and Audrey (Barnhart) Blackwell.
In 1989, David began working for the Butler VA Medical Center, where he worked his way up to Privacy Officer. In 2015, he also began to pursue his Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership, eventually graduating from Geneva College. David enjoyed running and walking (especially in Cabot), cheering for Pittsburgh sports teams, as well as spending time with his loving children and grandchildren. He was also a strong supporter of local businesses.
He is survived by his four children, Melissa (Marshall) Geeslin, Jamie (Jonathan) Gildersleeve, Nicole (Kevin) Allison, and Samantha Milbert; his eleven grandchildren; his brother, Frank (LuAnne) Blackwell, Jr.; his sister, Joyce (Wes) Speicher; as well as by his numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Ewing.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, and from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001, with Pastor Ben Blackwell, of First Baptist Church of West Edmeston, officiating.
