David R. Snyder III, 70, of Petrolia passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026. He was born in Butler on October 23, 1955, to the late David Jr. and Hazel (Shakeley) Snyder. David graduated from Karns City High School in 1974. He was employed as a laborer at Magnetics and AK Steel.
David enjoyed hunting, wood working and listening to oldies music. He was known for being hardworking, devoted to his family and very playful and lighthearted with his friends and family.
David was the beloved husband of Darla (Blystone) Snyder, whom he married on November 18, 1978; father of Kayla (Tyler) Martin; brother of Doreen (Richard Ishman) Blystone, Margaret Rodgers and Sondra Andre; grandfather of Palmer and Aspyn Martin; he is also survived by Samantha Hays and Jocelyn Bailey, who started as friends and became like daughters, his friend of 50 years, Cheryl Hays; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by his two brothers, William (Alice) and Bernard (Eileene) Snyder; brother-in-law, Kenneth Blystone and Harold Andre; and two close friends, Darrell Hays and Joe Bordonaro.
