Eliza J. O’Donnell, 42, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025. She was the daughter of Jean (Doerr) and David M. O’Donnell. Eliza was taken from her family too soon, but she lived a life defined by resilience, bravery, and optimism.
After homeschooling as a child, Eliza later earned two associate degrees from Butler County Community College and continued her education at Slippery Rock University.
A third-degree black belt, Eliza was an instructor at Engage Martial Arts (formerly ATA). Eliza’s love of learning and teaching impacted the lives of many: facing profound health challenges after being diagnosed with a connective tissue disorder, Eliza’s resilience led her to tirelessly advocate for herself and others facing the same issues. She co-founded a support group for people with connective tissue disorders and also served as an admin for an adrenal insufficiency support group.
Eliza will be remembered as a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt. She remained a vital member of her extended family until her passing and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her parents; her five siblings: Gabriel (Kim), Ezekiel (Cassie Pisone), Alaina and Elizabeth O’Donnell, and Mollie O’Donnell Sipe; and her five beloved nephews: Finnegan and Desmond O’Donnell, and Milo, Arlo and Jozy Sipe. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 12-2 PM and 4-6 PM at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 NEW CASTLE RD. BUTLER, PA 16001. WWW.SPENCERDGEIBEL.COM. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
