A former doctor at UPMC Children’s Hospital was sentenced in federal court after being charged a year ago.
54-year-old Ashok Panigrahy was charged in September of 2024 for being in possession of child sex abuse material.
Panigrahy was the radiologist-in-chief for Children’s Hospital. He was initially placed on leave by UPMC and then fired when charges were filed.
This week he was sentenced to 48 months of imprisonment, 10 years, of supervised release, and pay $57,000 in fines and restitution.
