Gas prices continue to drop both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, decreased by 17 cents to reach $4.42 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by 11 cents to reach $4.41. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $4.04, while the most expensive is in Beaver at $4.67.
The average national gas price dropped by a dime over the past week to $4.06. Gasoline demand increased slightly over the last week, and the price of oil rose to just over $90 a barrel but since a deal has been announced between the United States and Iran, lower oil prices could result in relief at the pump.
