There’s still time for local law enforcement agencies to apply for grant funding to modernize reporting systems and improve investigations.
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, or PCCD, has $3.5 million available through the Violent Incident Clearance and Technological Investigative Methods (or VICTIM) program.
Local police departments can apply for this funding to become National Incident-Based Reporting System compliant or if already compliant, money can be used to pay for technology, equipment, training, and other allowable activities to improve clearance rates of homicides and other violent crimes.
The deadline to apply for this grant through the PCCD website is tomorrow (10/21).
