An event later this week will highlight a local landmark as part of a major anniversary of an historical event.
The “Lafayette250” celebration will happen Wednesday on the front lawn of the Butler County Courthouse.
The free event will commemorate General Marquis de Lafayette’s contribution to America and his 1825 stop in Butler.
A trail marker will be unveiled during the event, which starts at 11 a.m. and is open to the public.
The Historical Lafayette Building in the Diamond is named after the famous general.
