The state Secretary of Health took time earlier this week to criticize transphobic attacks against her.
Dr. Rachel Levine, who is a transgender woman, said the attacks against her are an attack against the LGBTQ community.
Levine says although the attacks are hurtful, she remains focused on the public’s health.
“I have no room in my heart for hatred, and frankly I don’t have time for intolerance,” Levine said. “My time is full with working towards to protect the public health of every Pennsylvanian from the impact on the global pandemic, and I will stay laser focused on that goal.”
Levine has served as state Secretary of Health since 2017.
