A local resident has been chosen to join a statewide commission.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro recently announced the selection of Leilani Mears as one of 28 members of the Advisory Commission on Asian American and Pacific Islander Affairs.
The Commission’s purpose is to gather information regarding experiences and needs of this group; review, evaluate, and assess programs affecting them; provide the Governor with information and recommendations regarding how best to meet their needs; and serve as a liaison from the Governor’s office, providing information about programs and services available to the community.
The Commission’s board members will continue to meet regularly through 2027.
