An Allegheny County man has been placed in the Butler County Prison after being accused of strangling a woman while she slept in Winfield Township.
On Saturday, officers were called to a home on Old Orchard Drive for a domestic dispute from a man who was not at the home.
According to charging documents, the victim’s father called police after receiving a worrisome message from his daughter.
When police arrived on scene, the victim had bruising around her neck and accused 29-year-old Tyler Roberts of Brackenridge of strangling her while she slept.
Roberts was charged with strangulation, simple assault, and harassment then placed in the Butler County Prison on $75,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 28.
